Classroom Rules and Policies
We all want to study and learn in a comfortable environment. I expect everyone to be kind, courteous, and respectful to each other while in my classrooms. All students must follow the following classroom rules and be aware of the expectations:
Classroom Etiquette
No texting during class. It can wait.
All cell phones and any other electronic devices must be turned off when the lessons have started. Keep them in your backpack as they are a distraction for your fellow classmates and your instructor.
No hats or head covering indoors. (Unless you must wear it for cultural reasons.)
No eating or drinking in class. We want to keep the classroom a clean environment. Food and drinks that are spilled on the floor will attract rodents and insects! The only drink that is allowed is water.
Students are expected to treat each others with kindness and respect. Bullying is NOT tolerated.
Students are expected to listen when the instructor is talking. If they have a question, students should raise their hands and wait for the instructor to call them.
If a student needs to leave, please raise your hand and I will give you a hall pass.
Attendance
Students are to be punctual by showing up on time for classes. Tardiness and truancy will be punished and addressed accordingly to the school's attendance policy.
Late Assignments and Make Up Policy
Students should be aware of the dates and when their projects and assignments are due. Due dates will be announced in class as well as online on the class website. If students have emergency issues or any other circumstances that can prevent them from completing the assignment on time, please inform the instructor and ask for an extension. Any late assignments will lose points per day. Make-up assignments and make-up tests will only be allowed under special circumstances.
Cheating and Plagiarism
Do your own work. Students caught cheating during tests will receive an automatic "ZERO" for their score. Plagiarism will not be tolerated! Any students caught turning in assignments that is not their own work or lack the appropriate citation will receive a "ZERO" as well as a warning. If students continue to cheat and/or plagiarize on their assignments, they will be sent to the principal's office and punished based accordingly to the school's cheating policy. Students are expected to perform their studies and work with honesty, integrity, and dignity. You cannot cheat in school or in life.
