About the Teacher...
Miss Dzung Ngoc Bui was born in Fountain Valley, southern California in 1988. Her parents and grandparents were immigrants and refugees from the Vietnam War. Miss Bui spent most of her childhood not in just America, but in Sydney, Australia, too! That's way Down Under for ya, mate! She graduated from Fountain Valley High in 2007 and from California State University, Fullerton in 2012 with a degree in History. She has a great appreciation for the arts and literature as she loves to read, draw, listen to music, as well as study films and television programs during her free time. He favorite color is blue and her favorite animal is the adorable emperor penguin. Miss Bui enjoys teaching above all, and loves to see the smiles on her students' faces whenever they have done a good job and are proud of their academic achievements.

History Courses
7th Grade World History
This seventh grade history course will help students discover and build up new knowledge of the world's history. Students will study the history, cultural, and technological changes that occurred in Europe, Africa, and Asia from ancient times to the early nineteenth century. After they reviewed ancient world, students will study the history and geography of great civilizations that were developed throughout the world during the medieval and early modern times (such as the British Empire). Students will examine the growing economies and how it pushed these civilizations to the way it was known today. Students will also be able to learn about the Enlightenment philosophy and examine how this new concepts of reason and logic inspires the government they live in today. Most importantly, students will use the skills in analyzing and interpretation to develop their own understanding and opinions on the world they live in today and how it was affected by history.

8th Grade US History
This eighth grade history course will have students study the ideas, issues, and events from the humble beginning of the European explorers in the New World, with an emphasis on American's role for war and independence, to the rise of the modern United States they know today. Based on their previous knowledge of world history, students will analyze and link the connection between the existing laws and political charters to the creation of the Declaration of Independence and the Bills of Rights. Students are expected to be able to identify key points in American history, as well as understand their significance to the shaping of such a young nation as it take on the role of being a world super power. Students will be able learn about the challenges facing the new nation, with an emphasis on the cause and effects of the Civil War. Students will also be able to make connection between the rise of the industrial age to the contemporary society.
